Once, when I was sick, my mom got me Brainy Smurf as a gift because I, too, had glasses. I was not 100% on board with this comparison. It felt like being picked on. I’m not trying to say I was completely offended. I liked it.

Sometimes I still play Minesweeper (on Android) like the good old fashioned 1990s Windows days. And sometimes I win!
I never did think of myself as goth, but if it walks like a duck…

I used to live and die by my Microsoft index finger track ball. I loved it. But it broke. People would come to my desk at work and become befuddled. I had to provide a standard mouse for visitors.
“It would suck, wouldn’t it, if time collapsed in on itself?” I heard a random man say at a NYE party on December 31st, 1999. I believe he was speaking in general terms and not about NYE itself. I found myself agreeing with him silently. It would suck. Then he said it again. Before long he had said it near countless times. It turns out he was having a very bad acid trip. He was then sequestered in a room and began slamming furniture around. Some other people I also didn’t know evidently dropped him at a local ER and sped away. I felt bad for him.
I thought this photo was lost forever. I’ve looked for it before. It features my first rat, Sybil. I’m digging through old CDs looking for a video from ~2001.

Back in the ’80s I had a friend in Mesquite named Jason Schaffer. I lived on Luau Street and he lived one street over on Aloha Drive. I didn’t see him as much as I did my other friends. Plus, he was about four years older than I was. I really looked up to him as I thought he was polite yet cool. I was told circa 1990 by other kids in the neighborhood that Jason had tragically hanged himself and died. He was evidently a high school sophomore at the time. I never heard more about him ever again. I started looking around on Ancestry.com and found some things. I hope to find someone who knew hom better than I – perhaps Jason Johnston or members of Mesquite FB groups.…
